This residential project unfolds in two carefully considered phases, each designed to enhance the home’s connection to both its occupants and its breathtaking surroundings. Phase 1 focuses on ground-floor alterations, reconfiguring the layout to better suit the family’s evolving needs by opening the kitchen to the dining and living areas, fostering a sense of flow and connection. A new roof slab was also introduced, serving as the foundation for Phase 2. When complete, the first floor will house a luxurious main suite and home office, each opening onto private balconies that offer sweeping, uninterrupted views of the mountains. These berg vistas, stretching from Woester to Franschhoek, are bathed in the Paarl’s iconic amber light, creating an extraordinary living experience that harmonises with the natural beauty of the region. The design blends functionality with an appreciation for the site’s stunning landscape, providing a serene retreat for the family.
