Architecture imagines functional solutions for practical and aesthetic dilemmas. One of our favourite services to offer clients is enabling them to discover the latent potential that their home already holds.

The Southern Suburbs in Cape Town can often see a proliferation of houses set snugly on small stands – with little space for lateral renovations. This was the case for a cosy, one-storey Claremont house, where the owners were excited to unlock the surrounding views of Table Mountain reserve and the Newlands forest in an imaginative way. With some strategic drone footage, sweeping panoramic views were confirmed.

The concept design takes a dusty and forgotten roof space & transforms it into a heavenly loft volume: a new main bedroom suite, replete with a bathroom and his & hers dressers.

The best part, of course, is the uninterrupted vista of one of Cape Town’s most iconic views!
